Our Mission

At Minor Dwelling Builders our mission is to deliver the best small homes with the best finish possible while giving our clients a great experience in the process.

We also want to create a Win-Win-Win relationship where our clients win because they get a great end result, our contractors win because they get paid well for a top job, and we win because we actually trade profitably – All Shall Prosper

Daniel has over 30 years of experience in the residential building industry. In 1994 he started out working as a Yardman for Carters, then moved to another building merchant working up from Yardman/Driver to Shop Sales and then to a Sales Representative role looking after multiple builders and building companies.

Next Daniel worked for a residential construction company in a Project Management role for a few years before transitioning into a short-lived pastoral role in a small local church he was a member of.

After this Daniel became self-employed working as a handy-man and a hammer-hand, and also doing concrete cutting and various admin type work for a while.

The next move was into a Commercial Sales role for Atlas Concrete and then a promotion into the Depot Manager role at Atlas’s Takapuna Concrete Plant and Dry Goods Yard.

After this Daniel decided to purchase a franchise for a Property Maintenance & Renovation business where he quickly grew the business and achieved the franchise award of best performing franchise. A number of years later he sold that business for a good price and purchased a larger residential construction business and took it from a failing business model of tendering to architects, to a superior business model of doing Design & Build for Minor Dwellings and Granny Flats.

My wife and I have recently completed our third build with Minor Dwelling Builders. We have high expectations and like things to be perfect. We don’t like to worry about the process of building and with these guys, building was stress free. We were called with weekly updates so we always knew what was happening.
